        Stop the

       Intruders!

       There’s a special bird called a Killdeer bird.  It’s an odd name for it because the bird doesn’t have anything to do with deer except for the kind of sound it makes.  But the unique thing about it is how it protects its nest from intruders.  The nest is built on the ground in rocky areas.  So it’s easily approached by a predator.  That’s why this bird has special behaviors to protect the nest.

       When it knows it’s in danger, the bird will get off the nest and start running away to draw attention to itself.  Then it will drop its wings into a position that makes the intruder think it can’t fly.  It appears to be hurt.  Because of that, the predator will go after it instead of the nest.

       So the bird continues doing this action.  It will run then stop and act hurt, then run again and then act hurt.  Each time it’s getting the intruder further from the nest.  It does this until the intrude is far enough away that the nest is safe, then the bird flies off.  Eventually it will go back to the nest which is now safe.

       Just as that bird, there are times you have to protect your nest.  Protect it from intruders.  Don’t give them entrance into what you have worked so hard to build up and what’s important to you.  Whether it’s your home or family.  Or a nest egg built in your finances.  Or a position in your job.  Or the spiritual well-being of yourself and those for whom you care.  Or your business or ministry.

       Whatever type of nest you have there are going to be times when intruders try to enter in and take over or hurt it in some way.  So you have to make a decision you’re not going to give that entrance.  You’re going to protect it.  Shelter it.

       Stand up to the intruders of disease or debt.  Protect your nest from the wrong types of people and media.  From someone trying to take over your spouse.  Pray and believe a financial downturn will not affect your finances.  Tell that health report you’re going to protect your health and get it back.  You’re protecting your home and neighborhood and nation.  You stand on the Word of God by your authority in Jesus Christ.  You don’t have to give entrance to the threats that are coming for your nest.  You have the power of God on your side.

       There was a couple who did what we’re talking about and because of it, they were able to protect their financial nest.  They tell what they did as the country was experiencing a downturn in the economy, and so many people were hurt in their finances and investments.  The predictions of what was to come were bad.

       But this couple had been staying aware and the Spirit of God had directed them to move some of their funds to a certain type of investment.  So they prayed about it and felt they received confirmation.  They moved their funds to a better investment.  Because of that, their nest egg was saved.

       They were able to make the trip through the terrible financial time without losing their retirement funds.  Their finances were saved because they had protected them.  They moved when God said move, and they went to the place where He said to go with their funds.

       God wants to help you protect your nest from intruders.  Allow Him to direct you and move you to the right place at the right time.  He’ll show you what to do so you’re ready when the threat comes.

       Stay tuned to what He’s trying to show you.  Because as you do, even though problems are lurking in the unseen realm, you can be shown the right steps to take so they can’t destroy your nest.  Decide you’re not going to give the devil entrance, but you are keeping your sign up that says, “No Entrance.”

       Lord, I stand in the authority of Your power and say to the intruders, “You have no entrance into my life.”  I am going to have complete victory over what’s trying to intrude on my life.  So I thank You for directing and guiding me by Your hand.  In the name of Jesus.  Amen.
