Why Should
      You
  Sacrifice!
 

Sacrifice can be a hard word to hear.  But when you decide to put something on the altar before God, you can get up from that altar and see tremendous things happen.  When you sacrifice what God puts on your heart, it starts movement in your life.  It’s a very powerful force.  No more are you living dissatisfied about something, but because you have sacrificed, God goes into motion. So explore in this teaching what is produced when you sacrifice.
I.    You Cause Results To Come.
II.   You Are Set Free.
III.  You Will Walk in Your
        Anointing. 
IV.  You Are Separated
        for God’s Purposes. 
V.   You Step Out.

   You're
 the One
God Has
 Chosen!

  We all want to have the anointing of God and have what we feel has been ordained for us.  But I can tell you this from personal experience: without sacrifice, it isn’t going to happen!  The fulfillment of anointing does not come without sacrifice.

  You may receive the anointing, but you won’t walk in it until you’ve been willing to sacrifice.  That means you keep doing what you have to do each day even when you don’t see progress.

  You are in a time of sacrifice.  Even though the anointing of God is upon you to receive what He has for you, there is a time that precedes that anointing being expressed in your life.  It requires sacrifice.

  Times may get tough.  You may feel that your entire being is up on that altar.  You’re being sacrificed.  You want to squirm off the altar.  It’s getting too hot.  Too hard.  During those times, think of this—your sacrifice prepares you.  It is going up before God.  It rises before Him as a precious aroma.  He sees all you’re doing.  He knows what you had to give up.  And now you are set up.  Set up for the miracles He has prepared. 

   There is no doubt that you are the one chosen for what He has for you.  You are the one to fill that position, to say that word to a person, to use your gift in a special area, to pull your family together, to keep them together, or to demonstrate peace in the world of strife.  You are the one anointed to produce what will help so many people. 

   God depends on you to make that money, heal that wound, discover that answer, have faith to receive that blessing, that healing.  You can manage a team, see the need met, love others, build or restore. 

   You know the anointing God has put upon you.  Now you must walk into it.  That’s the only way you’re going to be fulfilled in your heart. 

   But you may in a time of sacrifice.

   This was the “time” that David was experiencing.  The prophet Samuel had been instructed by God to go to the house of Jesse, David’s father, to anoint the next King of Israel.  Saul had been King but was now rejected by God because of his disobedience, and therefore it was time for someone else to walk in their anointing.  So Samuel went. 

   Then as Jesse brought before him all of his sons, most of them had the appearance of a king.  The stereotype—impressive, tall, capable.  As Samuel would go up to each one of them, he would think, This is the Lord’s anointed.  But God said no to each one of them.  So Samuel asked Jesse if this was everyone, and he was told there was one more.  The youngest.  He’s out in the field.  Tending the sheep.  “You wouldn’t want him.  He doesn’t have the right appearance.” 

   In spite of that, Samuel told Jesse to have David come in.  As soon as he walked in the door, Samuel knew that even though he didn’t have the best appearance, he had the anointing.  God spoke to the prophet and said, Arise, anoint him; this is he (I Samuel 16:12). 

   My Friend, you may not have the appearance, but you have the anointing!  And that’s what counts.  God has skipped over others and anointed you to do what’s in your heart. 

   Because David was willing to stay on the altar of sacrifice and wait and go through the difficulties, the day came when Saul was removed, and the people crowned David as their King. 

       Satan can’t stand it when God puts His hand on you,
       when He pours the oil of anointing on your head,
       when He enables you and gives you gifts and talents,
       when He calls you forth to be blessed and favored. 

  The devil hates it so much that he sends his forces to try to snuff out that anointing.  That’s where the sacrifice comes in.  Will you give up when the attacks of the enemy come?  When things aren’t going the way you desire?  Yes, it’s hard.  The enemy tries to destroy your efforts. 

  So you sacrifice and keep doing what you know to do!  When you do, Satan cannot snuff out your anointing. 

  Be encouraged.  You’re going to see some tremendous and wonderful things happen in your life because of your sacrifice.

Here is a powerful prayer to say out loud:

Lord, I know that You have anointed me to receive and achieve all that You have planned for my life.  While I wait, You will strengthen me.  Help me stay on the altar of sacrifice until I see everything fulfilled You have put in my heart.  I believe You will take care of me and meet my needs during this time.  In the name of Jesus.  Amen.
