When God has done something wonderful in the past, it’s easy to thank Him for it. And when He’s working for us in the present, it’s easy to praise Him for it. But what about tomorrow? Do we thank Him for tomorrow? Do we praise Him for tomorrow?
When it comes to what He’s going to do for you tomorrow, you can’t see it. You believe it’s on the horizon. He’s promised it in His Word. It’s approaching. It’s in the air. But you have to trust Him for it. Trust God for tomorrow.
Because you can’t see it, trusting Him for tomorrow means that you can’t go by what you feel or your instinct. You have to go by what you read. The Word of God and what He imparts to you in that Word.
A good analogy of how we are to live by trust can be seen in the way an airplane pilot flies. Not by instinct, but by the instrument panel. It’s the same way we have to fly. We don’t trust our instinct but we go by the instrument panel, which is God’s Word. We trust the instrument, not instinct!
Smaller planes have something called an attitude gauge. It tells the pilot where the plane is in relation to the horizon. The gauge will register what’s called an attitude of nose-down if the plane is pointed below the horizon. If it’s pointed above the horizon then the gauge will register nose-high.
Of course, if it’s nose-high, the person is headed upwards into the sky. If it’s nose-down they’re headed for the ground. The pilot can’t always tell this by just viewing out the cockpit window. They must rely on the attitude gauge. That will keep them where they should be in relation to the horizon so they fly straight and don’t crash.
We have to trust our instrument, the Word of God. It can keep us going toward what is on the horizon for us. If we start getting off course and going down—down in our emotions and thoughts—then we’re in a nose-down attitude. We’re trusting the wrong thing. So we’re headed for the ground, which of course means a crash. We can crash when we don’t believe the instrument. We don’t keep our eyes on the Word. So our attitude takes a nosedive.
That’s why you have to trust Him for what He will do tomorrow. Trust for tomorrow. Believe that your answer is on the horizon and keep your eyes on the instrument panel instead of going by instinct. Then you can head the right direction and not do a nosedive.
You will keep going toward the horizon so you can receive what is waiting for you there. It’s coming. Have faith for what He is doing.
This is what the couple, Sarah and Abraham, experienced. God had promised they would have a child even though they were way past childbearing years. They had to go by the word from God and not their instinct. They could have argued that it was impossible. Too late. But God’s answer to that is, Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord? (Ref. Genesis 18:14.)
He made a visit to Sarah and performed what He promised. At the appointed season she bore a son, and they named him Isaac, which means laughter. God fulfilled His Word, and He’ll fulfill His Word with you. He will make a visit to your life just as sure as He did Sarah.
Don’t go by your instinct of, “Too much time has passed. My age isn’t right or my financial status. I don’t know the right person or the right way to take. The conditions are against me. There’s just no way!” Oh, but is anything too hard for God? Is anything too wonderful for Him to do for you?
The answer God wants to hear you say is, “No! Nothing is too hard for You, God. Nothing is too wonderful for You to do for me. So I receive what You’re saying You will do. I’m keeping my attitude up. I cannot see what’s on the horizon, but I believe it’s there. What You have promised is there.” That’s music to His ears. That’s faith to His ears. And He responds to it.
He heard you when you said, “Thank You.” He heard you when you said, “I praise You.” He hears you loud and clear when you say, “I trust You for what You will do tomorrow.”
That shows Him that you believe it’s coming. He has the ability to do it for you, and He will. Trust Him for what He will do tomorrow.
A Spiritual Powerline to say out loud: “I TRUST YOU FOR TOMORROW!”
Here is a powerful prayer to say out loud: Lord, I know what You have for me is on the horizon. I can’t see it with my eyes, but I can see it with my spirit. So I trust You for tomorrow. Nothing is too hard for You. Nothing is too wonderful for You to give to me. I receive it in the name of Jesus. Amen.
